Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is one of our most popular stand-alone or add-on treatments performed by our licensed aestheticians.

Using a sterile surgical blade at a precise angle, the dermatologist gently exfoliates the stratum corneum (outermost layer of dead skin cells) and removes vellus hair in a controlled, superficial manner. The immediate side effects: brighter, more radiant skin, and the smoothest, softest skin you’ve likely felt in a very long time, if ever.

Dermaplaning allows for better penetration of skin care products, prepares skin for other treatments, like chemical peels (Dermapeel). Dermaplaning also helps create an ideal surface for super smooth makeup application. These treatments also can be effective in smoothing superficial scars, especially when followed with a chemical peel.

Dermaplaning is great for all skin types, and is a perfect treatment for pregnant and nursing mothers. Dermaplaning is not recommended for patients with active breakouts, cystic acne, or hypersensitive skin. Once acne is under control, dermaplaning and chemical peel or SkinPen micro-needling treatments generally are ideal treatments to quickly smooth skin.

Benefits of Dermaplaning

  • Increases absorption of topical products
  • Removes vellus hair (aka. peach fuzz)
  • Diminishes appearance of lines/wrinkles/shallow scars
  • Primes skin for chemical peels and other treatments
  • Instantly smooth and radiant skin
