Skin + Stress + Quarantine
The normal daily stresses of life can cause sensitivity and reactivity in skin. Add a pandemic, a face mask and OCD hand-washing to our lives and WHOA! Stress levels are kicked into orbit, wreaking crazy havoc on our skin. Stress revs up cortisol, increasing oil production, weakening our immune systems, and putting our hormones on a wild roller coaster ride. Breakouts, rosacea flares, inflamed, itchy skin and slow wound healing are an abbreviated list of skin issues that result from stress. Keeping It Real
Natural Looking Results with Botox + Dermal Fillers Regardless of whatever is trending, natural looking results are always the goal for us when it comes to facial rejuvenation with Botox and dermal fillers. Thankfully, “natural looking” is the current trend in cosmetic dermatology – aka. treatments of Botox and filler are never obvious. Even so, many inexperienced and over-zealous injectors are out there keeping Overfilled Syndrome alive. #pillowface #distorted #unnatural Overfilled Syndrome (aka overindulgence in dermal fillers; too much of a good thing): A continuous mid-face bulge is appropriately called “pillow face.” Gone is the natural lower lid/ cheek junction.…

truSculpt 3D vs. Coolsculpting
Both truSculpt 3D and Coolsculpting permanently destroy fat cells (apoptosis); however, there are major differences between the two. These hyperpigmentation islands tend to mirror each other on both sides of the face (most commonly, upper lip, chin, brows, cheeks, forehead), but also can appear on the neck and forearms.…

Top Tweakment Trends
For someone who has had a front row seat in the beauty industry and cosmetic dermatology for decades now, there still are terms new to me that apparently have been circulating for a while – even though we may have been exercising them for even longer. Tweakments is the word of the day. Tweakment is a welcomed Goodbye! to the obvious enhancements, to the over-filled, overly tight, puffy, round, yet strangely flat faces of the past. It heralds the redefinition of beauty ideals and goals: natural, refreshed and great for our age. YAY! Tweakments are a delicious menu of “mini”…
